Want Natural Hair

Okay, so I said I would just perm it, but I was checking out "texturizers". I think I will just do that, you know? I'm TIRED of getting perms and disliking them. I'm tired of hoping and wishing for the day I can just wear my hair the way God intended!

So I'm done. I am really, seriously done with relaxers. Yeah, texturizer is still technically a mild relaxer, but I don't know what else to do.

I know like a month ago, I told myself "NO RELAXER! NO WAY!". I didn't have enough money to do exactly what I wanted to do (cutting myself some slack). I didn't know what I wanted to do. I just didn't want a relaxer and I was easily swayed. This time, I am saving my money. I'm going to work as much as I can (at both school and my job) and hopefully have at least $400 by the end of the school year.

I'll be back at home at that time and take down my weave (I never want to wear weave again! UGH!). Here's what I plan to do...

1. Protein Treatment (that costs what? 15 dollars?)
2. Deep condition
3. Diva Smooth
4. Flat Iron

#3 and #4 are going to be hard. I can probably do #3, but I'll just go to Walmart or someplace and pay them to flat iron my hair. This time, I will have the money and the will to follow my plan. And I will have no school to deal with, so my mom can't use that excuse against me. There should be nothing in my way.

  1. Instead of flat ironing, why dont you try twists and twist outs? Those will help blend your different textures (new growth and relaxer) and they can last about a week each. Flexi rod sets are another idea too :)

enjoy transitioning :) It isn't easy, but it's definitely worth it.

  2. You think the twist outs would work? I am afraid that they won't. I always think it would just make the hair wavy. And I can't figure out how to use my flex rod. I mean, I wrap my hair around it and bend the thing just like anyone else, but my hair always falls out. I'll do more research about that.

  3. They will make your hair "wavy" but it will make both textures look wavy so the line of demarcation (where natural growth meets relaxed growth) is less visible. You can get kinky twists which are an alternative to braided extensions if you want something that's a little more low maintenance since it lasts longer.

There are lots of video on youtube about how to do a flexi rod set and other styles that are good for transitioning.

When you transition you HAVE to be gentle, your hair is going to be EXTREMELY fragile because of the different textures and will probably break or shed more.
